Newburyport Art presents Abstracts & Abstracted Expressions, a show dedicated abstract works of all disciplines and media. This exhibit includes a highlight of the Abstract Artists Group of New England (AAGNE) in the Hills Gallery.

Join the NAA in celebrating a show dedicated entirely to plein air pieces! A French expression meaning to paint outdoors, artwork created en plein air aims to capture the ephemeral effects of light as moments in space and time. Nature in its quiet, or dramatic gestures, people captured in private moments in public places, street scenes capturing the interplay of buildings, sun, shadows, textures, humanity in movement - all will be on display on our gallery walls!

Newburyport Art is excited to announce the open-call show Scenes of Newburyport, centering an artistic focus on coastal landscapes, maritime themes, and the local environment. Featuring over 150 works by members and non-members alike, come visit the gallery to partake in artistic representations of the community around us - including some notable depictions of the beloved Plum Island Pink House!

Come visit the NAA to visit a show exclusively about showcasing paper — a foundational tool and a regular feature of many artists' practices. This exhibition will feature all types of works on paper, works of paper, works about paper, sculptural works, book works, collage, and so forth. From July 5th to the 21st, our walls will be adorned with over 150 works by our artists, to be enjoyed by art lovers coming from far and wide!

Newburyport Art is proud to announce its first National Juried Show, juried by Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) Curator Jane Winchell — the Sarah Fraser Robbins Director of PEM’s Dotty Brown Art & Nature Center and Curator of the museum's Natural History collection. An opening reception will take place from 5-7pm on Friday, May 24th, with a small awards presentation led by the juror.

Through the generous support of The Hemphill Family Foundation, Newburyport Art is proud to administer the annual Art Adventure Grant. This year’s award is $2,000, and applicants have each been invited to show one of their works as part of a representative exhibition in the NAA’s second-floor Hartson Gallery.

Flowers for OpArt runs alongside OpArt's annual exhibition, bursting with anything and everything "flowers". It runs physically adjacent to OpArt's exhibition, visually demonstrating the community's warmest support for this wonderful and very important program. A portion of the proceeds from sales of artwork in Flowers for OpArt will directly benefit OpArt programming.

A community favorite every year, the annual OpArt Exhibition packs the NAA Sargent Gallery to the brim with over 100 joyful and colorful works of art. This exhibition helps to mark the 20th Anniversary of OpArt.

Newburyport Art presents a featured solo exhibition from Sophy Tuttle: Fellow Creatures. Sophy is also one of the featured muralists of the NBPT Murals Project.

Newburyport Art presents a Featured Artist solo exhibition by member artist Deb Desmond Meserve: Saltwater Grounding.

We Share One Sky is an exhibition featuring over 80 area artists who responded to the words and concept: “we share one sky”. Works include painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, poetry, and more. A wide range of artist perspectives are explored through an equally wide range of subject matter — including wildlife, landscapes, cityscapes, community, the environment, and the abstract.

The Colors of March takes inspiration from March as Women's History Month. For decades, the colors of white, green, and purple (and even a little gold) have come to be associated with March and honoring Women's History. This exhibition is centered around these colors in acknowledgement and celebration of this impactful month.

Newburyport Art presents Pleinly Noted, a Featured Artist solo exhibition by NAA Master Artist member Maria Nemchuk. On view in the Hills Gallery, this collection of over 30 gorgeous oil paintings focuses on the work Maria created en plein air from the early Covid pandemic in 2020.
