Newburyport Art is thrilled to present its second special exhibition (out of a series of three) in celebration of its 75th Anniversary Year — Scenes of Newburyport: Celebrating 75 Years of Supporting Art in Our Community. Over 75 artists contributed a total of over 150 artworks, varying widely in media but all paying homage to the community served by the NAA.
This show also features three works by Newburyport Art founder and painter Sam Sargent and three works by former president Mildred Hartson. (Thank you to Harborframes of Newburyport for the new glass and mats for the Mildred Hartson pieces!)
Special Reception & Celebration: July 28 (5-8pm)
While Newburyport Art holds receptions for nearly all of its exhibitions, the Scenes of Newburyport reception will also serve as the NAA’s 75th Anniversary celebration. There will be remarks from Sean Reardon, Mayor of Newburyport, and Scott Simmons, President of the NAA Board. There will also be an unveiling of two new murals at Newburyport Art — one by Felipe Ortiz (Lead Artist of We Share One Sky) and another by Erin Bligh (NAA Artist-in-Residence). Cake and refreshments will be served to celebrate the exhibition artists and 75th birthday of Newburyport Art. The event is free and open to the public.
