In the highly technical world of contemporary print media, fine art printmakers continue to find inspiration in techniques that are centuries old, often in combination with 21st century methods.

The North of Boston Print Collaborative was founded in 2004 as a Featured Interest Group of the Newburyport Art Association. The group’s goals were to exhibit together, explore the elements that drew them to Printmaking, and expand awareness of this unique art form. Activities have included critique sessions, workshops, and field trips to print exhibitions. During the last two years, communication has been online and when possible at outdoor gatherings.
Although several artists have been with the group since its inception, welcoming new artists has been ongoing. Most members live on the North Shore and several in Maine and New Hampshire.
