Newburyport Art presents the final installment of its 75th Anniversary Year celebrations — Journeying Well: Artistic Pathways — generously supported by the Newburyport Charitable Bank and Mass Cultural Council. There are approximately 150 works in the exhibition, highlighting countless perspectives and commentary on the artistic and creative process.
Sargent Gallery & Hartson Gallery
Artwork responds to the theme of artistic and creative process pathways. Viewers will find literal pathways, metaphorical, symbolic, abstract, process-oriented interpretations and more.
Hills Gallery
The 2023 Call & Response Project is highlighted here. Artwork responds to one of twelve quotes by famous creatives working across the 75 years that Newburyport Art has been active. Quotes are displayed alongside the artwork, and feature additional fun facts about Newburyport Art.
Mural Gallery
Meet five of the selected artists for the 2024 phase of the NBPT Murals Project! The Murals Project was initiated in 2023 with three large exterior murals activating public spaces. During this exhibition, the NAA Mural Gallery features portfolio artwork from muralists who will further build out those public spaces next year.
Awards Voting & Opening Reception
The support from Mass Cultural Council has enabled Newburyport Art to offer a few small cash prizes. There will be a “People’s Choice” style voting that will open during the exhibition’s public Opening Reception on Saturday, November 18th (5-7pm). Visitors will simply provide their top pick to a member of staff, noting the artist name and title of artwork on a small piece of paper. Results will be tallied at the end of the exhibition, with winners announced through email, e-newsletter, and social media.
The reception on November 18th is free and open to the public with light refreshments served!
