Newburyport Art presents the 2022 NAA Members’ Winter Juried Show (Part I). This exhibition features Digital Art, Drawing, Oil, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Watercolor.

Juried by Julie Hamel, this exhibition is the NAA’s fresh start to the new year. Julie Hamel is a multidisciplinary maker working with photographic media that speaks of loss and memory. She received her BFA and a fellowship from the University of New Hampshire and her MFA in Visual Arts from Lesley University College of Art + Design in Cambridge, MA. She has won numerous awards and has shown across the United States and internationally, including Canada, Italy, Hungary, Greece, and England. Julie currently works at the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, NH.

Please visit to see both the Sargent and Hills Galleries filled with art, featuring 50 artists across six mediums. The artistic themes range from serene winter landscapes to inspired studies on color and form. Innovation is front and center in this year’s selections, with artists both challenging our perceptions of each medium and celebrating the new frontiers of art.

Join us on Saturday, February 26th, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm for a reception in the galleries, with some live music, an opportunity to meet some of the artists, and a reading of awards. This will be a joint reception featuring two other exhibitions: Winter Juried Show (Part II) and Celebrating Access through Glass Innovation: Smartphone Photography.
