A wide variety of artistic visions, all demonstrating a love of the abstract, are on display, bringing the viewer on a sensory journey. Many pieces take root in realistic inspiration, but rather than illustrating literally what one sees, they focus on the emotion, movement, line, shape, color, and texture of their muse to create a window into the artists’ mind’s eye.

A Featured Interest Group (FIG) of the Newburyport Art Association, the Abstract Artist Group of New England (AAGNE) began 21 years ago to support and promote abstract artists. The group has stayed active during recent times by meeting both remotely and in-person. They continue to share ideas and resources and critique fellow members’ work.

The NAA Galleries will also remain open for extended hours (5-7pm) on Thursday, August 4th.
