The Newburyport Art Association and the Quinan Family present Kevin Quinan: Featured Artist, a celebration of the life of artist Kevin Quinan.

This exhibition of Kevin’s oil paintings from the last eight years celebrates his love of art, beauty, whimsy, and his life. Though sadly our community lost Kevin earlier this year, this posthumous exhibition curated by his wife and daughter will bring the warmth of his artwork to the NAA once again. Kevin Quinan was a talented oil painter and celebrated member of the NAA community. Even though he was exposed to oil painting early in life through his mother, it wasn’t until retirement that he began painting. At the NAA, and up and down the North Shore, Kevin exhibited in galleries and won awards while exploring and embracing different styles and subjects over the years. On the later end, he developed a more expressionistic style of painting, and said that both the challenge and the fun is in “combining line, form, shape, and color in a composition that is engaging to look at, sometimes complex, often witty, always memorable”.

Proceeds from the exhibition sales will benefit the NAA Kevin Quinan Memorial Scholarship, established by his wife and daughter, to fund emerging adult oil painters at the NAA.
