    CALL FOR ENTRIES

    The NAA is pleased to announce our Members Exhibit,

    ‘The Power of Art’. This is an open show to welcome our NAA members back and celebrate the holiday season.

     

    Please note: On November 27th we will decorate the galleries for the holidays and open

    ‘Celebrate Art!’, a show-within-the-show featuring miniature canvases & original ornaments.

    We will post a Call for Art next week.

     

    Entry Requirements: Some entry requirements have been adjusted per Mass Government regulations. All entries must be submitted online at www.newburyportart.org and you will find guidance for online submission and an important Artist Checklist on The Artists Studio page.

     

    Open to all NAA members’, please take this opportunity to renew your membership

    One entry per member – $19 fee.

    Two dimensional work no larger than 20” x 20” or 400 square inches, Image resolution no more than 5GB/72dpi and 3D*

    All work must be for sale exclusively by the NAA for the duration of the show

    NAA Commission is 35% on sales

    Submission is an agreement to the terms of the NAA outlined below

    All work must be original and created within the last two years

    Due to COVID our exhibit space is limited, therefor we can only hang the first 100 online entries. We will create a waitlist for excess submissions and hang those as artwork is sold.*

     

    Receiving: Sunday, November 1, 2020, from 11AM – 5PM. We are staggering receiving times by alpha based on last names. Please wear a mask, and adhere to the following schedule if possible:

    A-D  11AM-12Noon                          N-R   2-3PM*

    E-I    12-1                                            S-V    3-4

    J-M   1-2                                             W-Z   4-5

    Pick-Up Work: Sunday, January 3, 2021, 11-5. Artist bears responsibility for pickup of artwork on date stated above. Work left at the NAA beyond that date is no longer the responsibility of the NAA and after 60 days becomes the property of the NAA.

     

    Insurance: NAA provides 65% of retail value declared by the artist. All work is checked for nicks, scratches and tears at receiving. Insurance is valid ONLY during the dates of show.

    Artist grants rights to NAA to use images for publicity and website content.

    No reproductions or giclées

    For Sale Exclusively by the NAA for show duration

    No wet paintings, no scratches, nicks or tears

    Professional quality framing or gallery wrap

    Frame – screw-eye or d-rings, metal frames must be secure                       in track, no saw tooth hooks, spring clips, tension                                  mounts, standing photo frames or pop-in frames.

    Gallery Wrap = Deep profile stretchers, stapled on back                                       with gessoed or painted sides

    Keep Art Accessible For All! Donate to NAA New Dawn Capital Campaign

    In operation since 1948, the NAA is a corner-stone of the greater Newburyport vibrant arts scene with over 600 artists and members from around the region.  Our mission includes art exhibitions, arts education, and community outreach, especially to students and adults with disabilities, to keep the arts accessible for all.

    When the COVID-19 crisis forced us to close our doors from March to October, there was a void felt in both art and community. Thanks to the efforts of the NAA Board and our committed supporters, we re-opened to the public on November 6th with The Power of Art: Members Open Show, featuring stunning work by over 90 of our member artists.

    As we approach the end of the year and the final weeks of our “NAA New Dawn” campaign, please consider making a donation to help us meet our $50,000 goal to cover operating expenses.
