    Class Enrollment and Refund Policy

    Enrollment is limited and will only be guaranteed upon receipt of payment. If a class is cancelled by the NAA due to insufficient enrollment, students will be notified and receive a full refund.

    If a student withdraws from a class, the NAA must be notified a week prior to the start of the class or workshop. A $20 non-refundable processing fee will be deducted from your refund.


    Class Cancellation

    In the event of severe weather or other emergencies requiring the cancellation of a class, instructors will contact their students. The NAA will update its general voice mail greeting to notify the public regarding unscheduled closings and cancellations. Students will be granted one make-up day which instructors will schedule through the NAA office and notify students. NAA reserves the right to substitute instructors on an as needed basis.


    Under 18 Emergency Contact Policy

    All students attending NAA classes less than 18 years of age must fill out an emergency contact information card at the time of registration.  Permission forms may be obtained in the NAA Office or by downloading here… Emergency Contact Form, Under 18


    Under 18 Permission Policy

    Persons under the age of 18 will need to obtain permission from their parent(s) or guardian(s) in order to attend the NAA life drawing sessions that involve nude models. Permission forms may be obtained in the NAA Office or by downloading here… Permission Form For Life Drawing, Under 18


    Visitor Policy

    Students of all ages should not bring guests into the classroom. Due to space limitation, and in fairness to the students enrolled in the class, the NAA has a “no guest” policy. Persons not enrolled in the class will not be permitted to observe or participate in NAA classes.

    In operation since 1948, the NAA is a corner-stone of the greater Newburyport vibrant arts scene with over 600 artists and members from around the region.  Our mission includes art exhibitions, arts education, and community outreach, especially to students and adults with disabilities, to keep the arts accessible for all.

    When the COVID-19 crisis forced us to close our doors from March to October, there was a void felt in both art and community. Thanks to the efforts of the NAA Board and our committed supporters, we re-opened to the public on November 6th with The Power of Art: Members Open Show, featuring stunning work by over 90 of our member artists.

    As we approach the end of the year and the final weeks of our “NAA New Dawn” campaign, please consider making a donation to help us meet our $50,000 goal to cover operating expenses.
