- Portfolio Review Workshop
July 17, 2018 - August 14, 2018
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Get Started Early – This series of 4 seminars has been designed with the high school art student in mind. It is targeted for those considering plans to apply to art colleges and university programs and thinking about planning their portfolio. It is recommended for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. All classes held at the NAA, 65 Water Street, Newburyport, Ma.
Prior to the first meeting, students will be asked to introduce themselves to each other via a social media platform and share images of their work. Students will also be asked to research college admission requirements, for one institution of their choice, and be ready to share during the first workshop session. All students will be supported in the completion of, at least, two portfolio works by the end of the workshop. Students will be expected to work outside of the workshop meeting times.
During the workshop students will complete 2 portfolio ready works of art.
Artwork # 1 will be done during studio session time and will be observational from either a still life or clothed model. Students may work in a variety of mediums including photography.
Artwork # 2 will be a personally meaningful work that will include students developing a proposal. This work will be done both in and outside studio session time and can be done in a variety of medium and any theme or subject of the student’s choosing – as long as it is personally meaningful.
