About the Instructor
Being born and raised in Massachusetts, Robin has spent a lot of time near the coast admiring the marshes and beaches of New England – the inspiration for most of her paintings. She is primarily self-taught and art has always been a piece of her life…part of who she is. Always striving to learn, throughout the years she has taken courses which include life drawing, design and oil painting, which has changed her life forever. She began to oil paint in the fall of 2006 and soon taught herself how to use pastels, and although she will always try to convey the beauty and greatness of the surrounding New England landscape, she also paints still life, figures and portraits. As of recent, she has added the beauty of encaustic to her list of mediums that she is exploring.
She is a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, a member of the Newburyport Art Association, and a core member of the Band of Brushes – a plein air group based out of Newburyport, Massachusetts.
