  • Featured Interest & Discussion Groups

The NAA provides a gathering place for artists interested in meeting with other artists working in particular mediums. A variety of interest groups meet at the NAA and have the opportunity as groups to show their work in the galleries.  Meetings are open to non-members but in order to participate in the summer exhibitions, artists must be current members of the NAA.  Please keep in mind that each Featured Interest Group has developed its own mission & guidelines regarding participation, membership, and exhibition opportunities.

    Painters’ Discussion Group

This group is open to NAA members who create 2-dimensional work in a variety of media and styles. Participants are invited to bring either a finished piece or a work in progress. Space will be limited to allow each member adequate time to present and discuss their work. Feel free to bring a lunch if you like. To join or request more information please contact Marion Eldridge, [email protected] – (978) 834-5123 or Jim Tinguely, [email protected] – (978) 363-2291.

Keep Art Accessible For All! Donate to NAA New Dawn Capital Campaign

In operation since 1948, the NAA is a corner-stone of the greater Newburyport vibrant arts scene with over 600 artists and members from around the region.  Our mission includes art exhibitions, arts education, and community outreach, especially to students and adults with disabilities, to keep the arts accessible for all.

When the COVID-19 crisis forced us to close our doors from March to October, there was a void felt in both art and community. Thanks to the efforts of the NAA Board and our committed supporters, we re-opened to the public on November 6th with The Power of Art: Members Open Show, featuring stunning work by over 90 of our member artists.

As we approach the end of the year and the final weeks of our “NAA New Dawn” campaign, please consider making a donation to help us meet our $50,000 goal to cover operating expenses. With your generosity, we will be able to continue our vital work for many years to come. Thank you!  To Donate,  click Count Me In!
