I love working from people I know, believing I get to know them a little more intuitively each time I draw their form. This young woman is on the quieter side and held herself in a gesture almost as a nod to the past. I couldn’t help feeling she belonged in film, and seeing her youth, her vulnerability and those red shoes, I jumped down the rabbit hole and ended in the land of OZ.
