Breezing captures the dynamics between rider and racehorse during a morning workout. The painting is rendered using organic shapes and a realistic color palette. It conveys the opposing forces of harmony and tension. Lines both actual and implied draw the viewers’ eyes around the artwork. The rider’s arms and legs pull back and offset the powerful forward motion of the horse, and create a sense of balance. The contrast of the fluid brushwork employed to render the horse and rider against a simple background of muted green causes the figures to be emphasized.
