Eighth Annual Outdoor Sculpture Garden Exhibition

At nearly 3,000 square feet, the Range Lights Sculpture Garden resides behind the historic Newburyport Art building at 65 Water Street. The Eighth Annual Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition will feature the work of six artists in the Garden for nearly a year — from October through August.
Abstract Artists Group of New England at Metzy’s Cantina

Visit Metzy’s Cantina to take in an exhibition of work featuring members of the Abstract Artists Group of New England (AAGNE), an NAA Featured Interest Group.
Friends | The Grog Restaurant

Three accomplished watercolorists will exhibit work that will be on view to the public and available for sale from April 1 through to June 1, 2024, at the Grog Restaurant In Newburyport.
20 Years of OpArt

A community favorite every year, the annual OpArt Exhibition packs the NAA Sargent Gallery to the brim with over 100 joyful and colorful works of art. This exhibition helps to mark the 20th Anniversary of OpArt.
Flowers for OpArt

Flowers for OpArt runs alongside OpArt's annual exhibition, bursting with anything and everything "flowers". It runs physically adjacent to OpArt's exhibition, visually demonstrating the community's warmest support for this wonderful and very important program. A portion of the proceeds from sales of artwork in Flowers for OpArt will directly benefit OpArt programming.
Art Adventure Grant 2024 Exhibition

Through the generous support of The Hemphill Family Foundation, Newburyport Art is proud to administer the annual Art Adventure Grant. This year’s award is $2,000, and applicants have each been invited to show one of their works as part of a representative exhibition in the NAA’s second-floor Hartson Gallery.

Celebrate the artists and artwork featured in three May exhibitions: 20 Years of OpArt, Flowers for OpArt, and the Art Adventure Grant Exhibition. The award winner of the $2,000 Art Adventure Grant will be announced at approximately 4:15. The reception is free and open to the public with light refreshments served.

We Share One Sky

We Share One Sky is an exhibition featuring over 80 area artists who responded to the words and concept: “we share one sky”. Works include painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, poetry, and more. A wide range of artist perspectives are explored through an equally wide range of subject matter — including wildlife, landscapes, cityscapes, community, the environment, and the abstract.

The Colors of March takes inspiration from March as Women's History Month. For decades, the colors of white, green, and purple (and even a little gold) have come to be associated with March and honoring Women's History. This exhibition is centered around these colors in acknowledgement and celebration of this impactful month.

Collaborators in Conversation | The Making of a Book
Newburyport Art welcomes NAA Master Artist Ryan Kelley, photographer Ryan Gregory, and writer (and former NAA Executive Director) Elena Ruocco Bachrach for a panel discussion on collaboration, artistic process, and the making of a book. Specifically, the panel will dive deep into the efforts behind the group’s creation of Deeply Rooted. This special event is free and open to the public, with a reception, book signing, and sale following the panel discussion.
Journeying Well: Artistic Pathways

Journeying Well: Artistic Pathways is a 75th Anniversary special exhibition, generously supported by the Newburyport Charitable Bank Foundation and the Mass Cultural Council. Approximately 150 works of art in the exhibit highlight perspectives on the artistic and creative process, and artists have expressed their pathways and journeys in many forms, from literal depictions to metaphorical ones to the symbolic, abstract, and process-oriented.
