NAA Scholarship Opportunities

 

We are pleased to announce that the Newburyport Art Association (NAA) will once again be offering 2019 scholarship opportunities to area graduating seniors in the following schools:  Amesbury High School, Haverhill High School, Ipswich High School, Newburyport High School, Pentucket Regional High School, Triton Regional High School, and Bradford Christian Academy.

  • The Hemphill Family Foundation Scholarship of $2,000, open to all area schools listed
  • The Ron Emmerling Scholarship of $2,500, open to all area schools listed
  • The Sue Keller Scholarship of $500, open to all area schools listed

In addition to the above scholarships, the NAA is also offering
The 2019 Ruthanne Arbeit Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500.00 for eligible 2019 graduating seniors of Newburyport High School

The Laura Coombs Hills Scholarship in the amount of $400 for eligible 2019 graduating seniors of Pentucket Regional High School

The Sam Sargent Scholarship in the amount of $400 for eligible 2019 graduating seniors of Triton Regional High School students

 

IN ADDITION, there is a scholarship opportunity for MASS Art Summer Studio, a pre-college studio art program for students entering grades 11 and 12.  A scholarship for the full tuition plus room and board, is provided by the Hemphill Family Foundation and Massachusetts College of Art and Design.  This scholarship opportunity is open to all area schools listed above as well as Timberlane Regional High School.  For more details, click on  MASS Art Summer Studio.

 

Eligible area students who plan to pursue art, art education, and/or art management in college are encouraged to apply for these opportunities.  Applicants are required to complete the attached NAA Scholarship Application Form and submit their portfolio (in power point format only) & any other application materials to the NAA no later than Friday, March 29, 2019.  If you are applying for multiple scholarships you must complete an application form for each one however one portfolio and set of supplemental application materials will suffice. The NAA mailing address is 65 Water Street, Newburyport, MA  01950.  Our gallery hours if you wish to drop off in person are Tuesday-Saturday, 11-5p.m. and Sunday 1-5p.m.

 

The NAA’s Selection Committee will review all applications and portfolios as soon as possible thereafter.  The Committee will notify your school’s guidance office of this year’s recipients, as well as present the scholarship(s) at your Spring awards ceremony.  Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or requests at naa@newburyportart.org or 978-465-8769.
