Are you sometimes frustrated with the final result of your watercolor effort? This hands-on workshop will simplify the path to an exciting watercolor painting – from start to finish. We will go over the 4 key principles for success in watercolor as well as the necessary ‘tools’ to use. Also, choosing and designing a subject and actually painting it – and why planning and timing are important.

PAINTS (Windsor Newton or Holbein)
French Ultramarine Blue, Cerulean Blue, Cadmium Red, Alizarin Crimson, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Cadmium Yellow Light, Yellow Ochre, Chinese White, Burnt umber, Cobalt Turquoise light, Windsor Violet, Neutral Tint
A round big, squirrel Mop #14 or #18
Pointed brushes – sable or squirrel – a #8 & #12.
A #12 round sable
Smaller ones if you want but not necessary
Rough or cold press texture (Arches, Saunders, Fabriano). 300 grams = 140Lbs
For the workshop it is best to use 1/2 size sheet or 1/4 sheet but you can paint in any size you are comfortable with.
Sponges, towel, tissues, water container, masking tape, 2b – 6b pencil, water spray bottle, painting board
About the Instructor – Richard holds a BA from Holy Cross and MA degree from Tufts University and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA. Former artist member and Board member of the Guild of Boston Artists.
