    2020 MassArt Summer Studio & Scholarship Applications

    2020 MassArt Summer Studio Scholarship Applications are now being accepted. A unique pre-college studio art program for students entering grades 11 and 12, generously provided by The Hemphill Family Foundation.  This is an intensive 4-week program for the artist who is serious about their work.  For more details, click MassArt Summer Studio  and  Summer Studio Application

    Application deadline is extended to Friday, March 20.

     

    In addition, each year the NAA awards the Ruthanne Arbeit Memorial Scholarship to a Newburyport High School student; the Sam Sargent Scholarship, the Laura Coombs Hills Scholarship, the Hemphill Family Foundation Scholarship, the Susan Keller Scholarship, and the Ron Emmerling Scholarship.  Local graduating seniors planning to pursue art, art education, and/or arts management are eligible to apply.  Application guidelines are available in the guidance offices.  Students from the Amesbury, Ipswich, Newburyport, Pentucket, and Triton districts are welcome to apply.

    Sculpting Animals in Oil-based Clay with Jeffrey Briggs

    Learn to sculpt animals with the Boston Greenway Carousel designer/sculptor Jeff Briggs.  Students will experience techniques of researching and sculpting their selected mammal.  Students will be introduced to the fundamentals to gather research materials to understand the anatomy and spirit of their selected mammal.

    Annual Young and Budding Artists Exhibition

    Our annual Young and Budding Artists show is open to all students, grades 1-12.  The show,  on view March 6-28 in the Sargent & Hartson galleries, is generously sponsored by Fruh Realty.  Join our artists as they celebrate the opening and awards presentation on Sunday, March 8, 2-4pm.
    All NAA receptions are free & open to the public.
