Kale Baker’s work is very process driven. Her paintings evoke light, atmosphere and movement through mark-making and color. Baker’s paintings draw parallels between mother-nature and the human heart through the expression of turbulence, fragility and vulnerability. Her paintings present the landscape as a mood, highlighting the relationship between place and feeling; one of the most basic yet intimate aspects of life. Her love of the outdoors feeds her studio practice and her soul. She currently lives in Newton, NH with her partner and her four cats.
