  • About Patty deGrandpre

Patty deGrandpre is a local artist who lives in Beverly Massachusetts. She received her BFA in Visual Design in 1987. Patty is an abstract artist who works in multiple mediums creating one of kind monoprints. She enjoys using nonconventional materials including carbon, ammonia, and blue print paper.

Patty's first job after college was in a type house. She continues to be inspired by type and lettering and frequently uses it in her work. Her work is often small and colorful with subtle details. She wants the viewer to want to look closer or perhaps look twice. Patty works on multiple pieces at a time, often creating pairs and triptychs.

Some notable achievements include Marblehead Arts Festival Honorable Mention in printmaking 2011, accepted for "Just Add Water" compliment show to Peabody Essex Museum's "The Ripple Effect", 2011, accepted piece for Newburyport Arts Association Spring juried show featured in "Art Scope" magazine May/June 2012 issue. Patty has participated in several open and juried shows. She has had solo shows at "In a Pig's Eye" in 2010 and 2012.

Patty is looking forward to trying different mediums and techniques. She will continue to work abstractly, hoping to "push the boundaries" and create pieces that are even more abstract. That is what she really enjoys and if the viewer enjoys it...it's such a bonus.
