I began to paint twenty years ago, while raising a family and establishing my career as a psychotherapist. I initially began working in mixed media, using paper and paint to create more loosely defined pieces. They were infused with texture, shape, and color, involving a process that was much more intuitive. Intrigued by interiors, urban landscapes and unusual portraits, I continue to work in mixed media, but with more of a representational focus. I always seek out less traditional beauty, and I am motivated and challenged to present the light, starkness or chaos of a scene in a way that can be appreciated by the viewer. Until its closing, I had been represented since 2011 by Chameleon Art Gallery in Newburyport, MA.
