Description
Award-winning photographer Jay McCarthy has been
passionate about his craft for the past 30 years. He specializes
in landscape and portraiture photography and his work has
been featured in numerous juried shows and galleries including
the former First and Ocean Bank in Newburyport, Fidelity
Investments in Boston, The Newburyport Art Association (Best in Show &
Best in Photography/2012 Winter Member Juried Show), The Cambridge Art
Association, David’s Restaurant, Blu Water Café, Michael’s Harborside and
Chase & Lunt in Newburyport, The Topsfield Fair, The Merrimac (MA) Town
Hall (Best in Show), Yankee Homecoming’s “Photography at Brown
Square”, inclusion in the Mass. Municipal Association’s 2005 Calendar,
Lowell’s Boat Shop, The Newburyport Literary Festival (Website),
Newburyport Magazine, Merrimac Valley Magazine, Newburyport Adult Education (First Place
Winner for their 2012/2013 winter catalog cover), Post Road Framers in Rowley,
Andover’s (MA) “Art in the Park” and other venues.
McCarthy is a former Board of Directors member (President) of the Newburyport Art Association.
He holds BS in Management from the University of Massachusetts and he
attended the New York Institute of Photography.
