Michael Doran is an architect. Retiring in 2000 after 40 years practice in Rochester, NY, he started working in watercolor. Principally, his work has covered the field of religious, educational, and institutional buildings with a particular interest in places for musical performance. His professional background leads him to favor architectural subjects but he also enjoys working in other fields both fanciful and realistic. He has exhibited in many juried shows at the Art League in Alexandria, VA, and at the Art Association, Newburyport, where he has won several awards. He is a partner in the Bridge Gallery.
