Loosely nodding to the myths, biblical stories, and fairy tales of my childhood, I combine my love of sensual form rooted in Western Baroque illusion, with the celebratory, imaginative worlds of the East. Here, the two very different women generate the strength and grace, compassion and vulnerability of this shallow space, calmly waiting while we contemplate them in relationship to the icons of Christianity and the bric a brac of store front objects.
Through layered surface, I hope to extend time, as it is communicated through the construction of complex surface.
Parallel to my own experience, the world is one of transformation, and in a constant state of becoming. The narrative remains the same, connected histories in an ongoing love story.
