ORGANIZATION

What type of organization is the NAA?
The NAA is a non-profit 501(c)(3), a copy of the Bylaws is online and can be accessed from here.

How is the NAA funded?
Dues, show entry fees, art sales, fundraising events, gifts, donations, grants, Link mission

MEMBERSHIP

Who can join?
Anyone from anywhere can join the NAA. We have membership levels for artists, friends, family, business partners, youth. Link to membership page

How much does it cost to join?

What do I get when I join?
Each level of membership has different benefits and costs. link to levels

Can I join online?
Not yet, but soon

What is the membership period?
One calendar year, renewable on or before Jan 1. New members, who have never before been NAA members, joining after October 1 have their membership benefits extended through the following year.

Are members required to participate in any activities?
Yes, each member is asked to volunteer 6 hours per year. click for volunteer needs

How do I get a link to my website published on the NAA website?
Artist Plus members have this option available to them.

COMMUNICATIONS

How do I find out what's happening at the NAA?
NAA promotes green communications by using HTML mail (Constant Contact) and posting its quarterly newsletter, The Sketchpad, seasonal class schedules, and show schedule reminders and calls for entry.

How do I get an "ad" into the newsletter?

EXHIBITIONS

Can anyone exhibit artwork at the NAA?
Current artist members (artist, artist plus, and youth membership levels) who work in NAA accepted media can submit work to any NAA sponsored show. See media list

Are there fees for exhibiting artwork?

Yes, for artist and youth membership levels the fees are listed in the calls for entry. Artist Plus member entry fees are waived as a benefit of that membership level.

Are there standards for artwork shown at the NAA?
Yes, there are standards for framing, hanging of art, display of 3d art. There are also size and weight restrictions. see list

What is a "juried" show?
The NAA sponsors 5 juried shows per year with cash awards where the pieces accepted are selected by an impartial, qualified, non-NAA member juror invited by the exhibition committee to participate.

Can I sell my artwork at the NAA?
Yes all work shown at the NAA is required to be for sale or representative of a commissioned piece of art. See schedule of fees and commissions for commission rates.

FEATURED ARTISTS

Can I have a one person or small group show at the NAA galleries and how do I qualify? Yes we call these Featured Artist shows, see requirements

EDUCATION

Does the NAA offer art classes? Yes, we offer classes and workshops for artists, youths, and children to the public. For more information on the classes being offered, their cost and NAA instructors click here

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

How can I volunteer to help at the NAA? The NAA has a variety of volunteer needs that range from exhibition tasks, gallery sitting to events, building upkeep, mailings and committee work. For more information contact our volunteer coordinator and board member, .

Can I display and sell my work in the Gift Shop? Yes, current artist members can submit their work for jurying to gift shop committee. For more information about artwork requirements, submittal periods and commissions see

OUTREACH/COMMUNITY

What programs does the NAA offer the general public?
The NAA currently supports two community outreach programs: OpArt and ArtLink, which are funded by local foundations and patron donations.

What programs does the NAA offer for artists?
The NAA provides meeting space and exhibition opportunities for established media based groups recognized by the NAA. Each interest group is self managed.

SUPPORT/FUNDRAISING

How can I support the NAA?
The NAA accepts private and public gifts and sponsorships from individuals, estates, corporations,and foundations. Contact the for more info.
