- Your IPhone...beyond the basics
March 15, 2018 - April 5, 2018
6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
The iPhone has become the most ubiquitous camera in the world, yet the majority of users don’t appreciate all the capabilities the camera provides. This class is intended for those who have taken my previous iPhone classes as well as those with a good level of understanding of the operation and use of the iPhone/Android camera who seek to advance their techniques and skills. We will be looking at the various apps available for capturing images and the tools and apps for creative post processing while reinforcing understanding of proper and effective camera techniques and procedures. Weekly assignments will be given and used as teaching and class discussion tools.

About the Instructor David “Stoney” Stone has been in the photographic and imaging business since the early 1970’s, after completing the course of study at the New England School of Photography. His photographic career was spent primarily in the Photo Lab and Digital Imaging Services side of the business where he was fortunate to work with, and learn from, a wide range of well-known and talented photographers, designers and artists as well as many Museums, Colleges and Universities.
He is on the staff of the Photographic Department at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts. He thinks of himself primarily as a photographer of the natural scene, though he finds himself drawn to anything where light, shadow and line are at play. His work can be seen in several local galleries and juried shows. He has led photographic workshops in Rockport and Gloucester and an Ipswich workshop for the Trustees of Reservations at the Crane Estate. He is an instructor at the Ipswich Museum’s Dow Art Program teaching digital photography and iPhone photography workshops.
He is an active member of the NAA and participates regularly in the Association’s shows. He is a Castle Hill Artist, showing annually at the Crane Estate Art Show and a Medici Artist showing annually at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Show.
