- Purely Pastel
September 25, 2017 - November 6, 2017
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
This 6-week session of pastel classes will focus on painting the landscape from photos. We will concentrate on all of the basics of painting, with an emphasis on understanding the value scale and how to use it to create different moods in your paintings. Participants will develop several different preliminary value/color studies to guide them through a finished painting. Small demonstrations will be provided throughout the session, as well as plenty of personal instruction. Class limited to 8. Supply list available upon registration.

About the Instructor
Being born and raised in Massachusetts, I have spent a lot of time near the coast admiring the marshes and beaches of New England – the inspiration for most of my paintings. I am primarily self-taught and began drawing at an early age as an escape and thus my love affair with art was born. I have spent the last 10 years of my adult life connecting with nature by painting en plein air and people often comment that my paintings evoke a sense of peace and stillness. My paintings are a reflection of who I am and what I choose to put out into our world, and hope my work connects you to a similar place of being.
